  • Why an applications process?
    Liminal Nation expects a good standard of writing and debate from its contributors, and in order to facilitate this, we have an applications
    process in place that helps to ensure good quality content and a degree of commitment and collective investment among all members. LN aims for a higher signal-to-noise ratio than elsewhere on the internet, and the application process helps to facilitate this.
    • What are we looking for in an application?
    We are basically just trying to get a sense of what you will be like as a contributor to the board, so a clear and concise writing style and a polite manner will generally get your application approved.

    A good application should demonstrate that you have read some of the debates and understand the general culture of LN.

    Very short applications along the lines of I would like to join because I'm interested in magic are likely to be rejected. We know that much already, or else you would not be applying. Your application is all we have to go on in order to assess what your future contributions to the board might be like - so if it is too brief, and doesn't really tell us anything, then it is likely to be rejected.

    Lastly, LN does not tolerate hate speech, racism, misogyny, antisemitism, etc. If you are looking for a platform to espouse odious and bigoted views, occult or otherwise, then this is not the place for you. Similarly, if you are a fledgling cult leader looking for fertile ground to recruit new members for your group or order, it is best taken elsewhere. LN has robust moderation in place, and such activities on the board will result in your account being deleted.
