This document is an agreement between (i) this website and its owners (collectively, "Liminal Nation") and (ii) its members. It concerns the legal framework in which you, as one of those members, participate in Liminal Nation, what your rights and responsibilities are, and what you can expect from Liminal Nation.

Your right to participate as a member of Liminal Nation is conditioned on your acceptance of these terms and conditions (the "Agreement") without modification. After reviewing the Agreement, by checking the box that says "I have read and agree to the Terms of Service" and clicking the "Proceed" button on the Membership Application Form page you are indicating that you accept the Agreement.

Liminal Nation may add, change, or remove any part of this Agreement, or any other terms associated with the use of this website, at any time, by posting a notice of such changes in the Central Administration Bureau forum on this website. Any such changes shall become part of the Agreement and shall apply as soon as such a notice is posted. If you do not agree to be bound by any such changes, please do not access, use, or contribute to this website. By continuing to access, use, or contribute to this website after such a notice is posted, you are indicating your acceptance of those changes.

You Own Your Content

Liminal Nation is not the author or publisher of any works posted by its members, but a passive service for storing and disseminating content that Liminal Nation members may choose to post on this site. Liminal Nation and its moderators do not screen content before it is posted, and no prior approval is required for posting. Liminal Nation expressly disclaims all copyright and ownership in and all responsibility for such content.

You are legally and ethically responsible for any content that you post on this website. In posting such content, you are obligated to honor the rights of others, including intellectual property rights (such as copyright, patent, and trademark rights), the right to privacy, and the right not to be libeled. For example, if you wish to post a portion of a copyrighted work on this website that exceeds the limits of fair use, you are obligated to first obtain the copyright holder’s permission.

You retain copyright on all content you create and post to this website unless you specifically choose to limit or renounce it – for example, through a Creative Commons license. Both you and Liminal Nation have the right to remove any of your content from this website at any time.

Your access to the content that other members have posted on this website is for your personal use only. If you want to redistribute content you find on this website, it is your responsibility to obtain permission from the poster and any other person with rights in the material.

You Are Responsible for Your Content and Behavior

You are obligated to abide by the standards of behavior on this website, and to take responsibility for all authorized use of your Liminal Nation login and account, and all contributions that you post from your Liminal Nation account.

Your Liminal Nation account must be registered with a valid personal email address that you access regularly. You may not impersonate another member of Liminal Nation, or make any personal information about any other member of Liminal Nation public without his or her explicit permission, or seek to gain access to another member’s user details (login name, password, or email address) without his or her express permission, or use multiple identities, logins, or accounts to access this website. Any such conduct may result in warnings or banning.

Liminal Nation does not tolerate bigotry. This includes the use of abusive terms based on race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, ethnicity, national origin, age, or disability, among others. Again, the use of such terms, the posting of abusive content, or such actions as harassment of other members, trolling, spamming, or excessive self-promotion may result in warnings or banning.

Liminal Nation appoints moderators to facilitate discussion on this website. However, moderators are not acting as agents of Liminal Nation, in the absence of explicit agreements to the contrary, nor are they subcontractors or employees of Liminal Nation.

Liminal Nation does not take responsibility for your behavior or that of other members of the system. However, Liminal Nation members have the right to expect not be harassed by others. If you have a complaint about the posts or behavior of another member, you first should attempt to resolve the conflict yourself, typically by contacting that member directly. If that does not resolve the problem, however, or if you feel that such an effort would be fruitless, you should feel free to contact a moderator for help.

Using your Liminal Nation account for activity deemed illegal under the laws of your Country is a violation of this agreement.

Termination

Either Liminal Nation or you may terminate this Agreement at any time.

You may terminate this Agreement at any time by ceasing use of this website. Liminal Nation can terminate the Agreement by asking you to stop using or posting on this website, and, if necessary, by preventing your access to this website.

Your only right and remedy with respect to any dissatisfaction with Liminal Nation, including without limitation any dissatisfaction with (i) any terms and conditions of this Agreement, or any policy or practice of Liminal Nation, or (ii) any content available through this website or any change therein, is to terminate this Agreement.

Without limiting the foregoing, Liminal Nation shall have the right to terminate this Agreement with you, effective immediately, and/or terminate or temporarily suspend your access to all or any part of this website, without notice, in the event of any conduct by you which Liminal Nation, in its sole discretion, considers to be unacceptable, or for conduct that Liminal Nation believes is a violation of this Agreement or any policies or guidelines posted by Liminal Nation, or for other conduct which Liminal Nation believes, in its sole discretion, is harmful to Liminal Nation or other members or users of Liminal Nation.

Liminal Nation reserves the right to deny registration of any individual as a member and to deny access to this website to any individual for any reason.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Liminal Nation and its owners, agents, and moderators (collectively, "Indemnified Parties") from and against any and all liability and costs, including without limitation attorneys' fees and costs, incurred by the Indemnified Parties in connection with any claim arising out of (i) any breach by you of the Agreement or the foregoing representations, warranties and covenants or (ii) your use of this website.

Jurisdictional Issues

This website is controlled and operated from England. Liminal Nation makes no representation that materials on this site are appropriate or available for use in other locations. Those who choose to access this website from other locations do so on their own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local laws, if and to the extent local laws are applicable.

Since the law concerning the jurisdiction of online systems is unsettled, you should consider the possible effect of the laws of your own residence, as well as those of other jurisdictions, when posting content to this website. Liminal Nation is open to members worldwide (and its content may be accessible to anyone on the Internet), and Liminal Nation cannot guarantee that you will not run into legal trouble from other jurisdictions over your content.

Miscellaneous

This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between Liminal Nation and you with respect to the subject matter hereof, and supersedes all previous agreements between the parties with respect to such subject matter, whether written or oral.

This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without giving effect to any principles of conflicts of law. You agree that any action at law or in equity arising out of or relating to the Agreement shall be filed only in England and you hereby consent and submit to the personal jurisdiction of such courts for the purposes of litigating any such action. If any provision of the Agreement shall be unlawful, void, or for any reason unenforceable, then that provision shall be deemed severable from these terms and shall not affect the validity and enforceability of any remaining provisions.
